Social Documentary

In 2001, filmmaker Joanna Kohler, began documenting the journey of Ronni Shendar from a young jewish activist at the rise of the second Intifada to the director of Diala, a nonprofit art and information center founded by the Israeli Commission Against House Demolisions.

Shot over 5 years, Kohler traveld back and forth from Minneapolis to Jerusalem at different stages in Shendar's activism. A story about personal accountabiliy, privilege, activism and sustainable development unfolds in this 32 minute video. Shendar falls in love with a German DJ, a direct descendant from a Nazi party grandparent and balances her own lineage of survival from the Holocaust. Shendar travels inside the West Bank and among groups of international activists in a story about personal change.

MOVING IN A MIRROR is now available for the fist time on DVD by Kohler Productions.
