Joanna Kohler
Social Documentary Filmmaker

Joanna Kohler has been directing and producing social documentaries since 1998. A self-identified activist, her films have covered topics of exploitation within youth services in Minneapolis, activist work in Israel-Palestine to female amateur boxing. Currently Kohler Productions in finishing the post-production on BOXERS.

Kohler has spent the last 10 years working in non-profits and community organizing. Kohler graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor's degree in Social Documentary. Kohler Productions mission is "to use digital story telling to create social documentaries that would otherwise go unheard. Confront power. Entertain. Engage communities."

Kohler Productions has produced and directed social documentaries that have screened in film festivals and educational settings in both domestic and international venues.
