In 1998, a center for queer youth faced new challenges as a group of four youth took to heart messages of social justice, voice and a center "for and by youth." Filmmaker Joanna Kohler picked up a camera for the first time. She began to document the events which led to all four youth getting kicked out of the center they had helped to grow.
Shot over one year, Witness was pieced together outside the center and presented to the public, donors, and community leaders in an attempt to find a voice when all other channels were closed. This home video is a 55 minute journey into youthwork, ethics, community voice and these youth writing their own history.
WITNESS will be available soon on DVD by Kohler Productions.
